Hello

Amy graduated from the University of Connecticut with her Masters degree in 2003. She has over 20 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist with early intervention, school systems, and rehabilitation facilities.

 

Amy was named Horace W. Porter School's Teacher of the Year in 2023. Amy is a two-time Fund for Teachers fellow. In 2018, she traveled with her husband and two children to Australia to research their outdoor learning environments and natural playscapes. In 2023, they explored the sustainability practices within Hawaii's education programs.

Amy has attended professional development on topics including expressive and receptive language development, stuttering in young children, articulation, autism, and childhood apraxia of speech. Amy has a passion for providing therapy in natural environments: home, general education classroom, playgrounds and outdoors. Parents have reported that their children do not even realize that they are practicing their speaking/language skills. Amy hopes to empower parents to help their children reach their full potential!
